Broken Hill NSW 2880

Silverton is situated about 25 kilometres from Broken Hill. Where once this was a busy mining town, today it's a ghost town, sometimes brought to life by the filming of movies such as Mad Max 2, Razorback, Town Like Alice, Dirty Deeds and many commercials that have been filmed in the area. You will visit the Mundi Mundi Plains and the Umberumberka Reservoir. Visit the Old Silverton Goal. Have a look at the old Silverton School where Mary Jane Gilmore, who is featured on the AUD10 note, taught. Visit the Galleries of John Dynon, have a bite to eat or a coldie at the Silverton Hotel. Visit the Mad Max Museum, Beyond 39 Dip, and the Justin Cowley Art Gallery.

Visit the only Tourist Mine in the Barrier Ranges and follow the Cornish, Welsh and German hard rock miners in the 1880s. You will visit their town where hardships were real and surviving was tough. A professional guide will take you back in time and take you underground.

The Sculptures tour offers a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of the Barrier Ranges and the surrounding Outback. This unique site features 12 world-renowned rock sculptures, each telling its own story while blending seamlessly into the stunning natural landscape. Watch as the sunset paints the sky with vibrant colors, transforming the scenery minute by minute.

Visit Pro Hart Gallery, Howard Steer, Jack Absalom, Jenny Cattonar, Julie Hart, Bush and Beyond, Peter Anderson's The Big Picture (the biggest canvas painting in the world), and The Regional Gallery. The tour will fit in as many galleries as possible in the 3.5 hour tour. Operating 9am to 12.30pm Monday to Sunday.
